I met Wolfgang Maier, who is the Executive Culinary Director of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, on a cruise that left from Lisbon and wound up in Barcelona, via the Canary Islands. He and I became friends; we did a couple of cooking demonstrations and ate many meals together, he toured me around the ship, we talked about food and life at sea, he showed me the ship’s food stores — walk-in refrigeration the size of an apartment, really.
