Dorie Greenspan‘s latest book, Dorie’s Anytime Cakes, came out last month, and Dorie, as you’ll hear on today’s episode of Food with Mark Bittman, is an old friend of mine (we do a lot of reminiscing). We’re contemporaries; we started food writing at the same time and we had similar experiences—struggling with the freelance life, eventually finding some stability, and becoming, as my friend Doc used to say, FFWs. Famous Food Writers.
Dorie and I have stayed in touch and watched each other’s careers develop with interest. We’ve known one another close to 40 years now, and it was fun to catch up with Kate as a sort of moderator.
You can get Dorie’s recipes for Morning, Noon and Night Thanksgiving Cake and for Cocoa-Swirled Pumpkin Bundt here and here.
