How to Cook Everything Kids is officially HERE, on sale, in stores, wherever you buy books. I am so proud of this book, and so proud of my team and everyone who contributed their immense talents to it. It’s truly a beautiful, useful celebration of kids and all they’re capable of. We’re sharing a few of our favorite kid-friendly recipes below (or view our Kids Recipe collection).

Crisp and Meaty Tacos (or Tostadas)

To host taco night for family or friends with you at the stove, just double or triple the recipe. I bet someone will be happy to come help in the kitchen. Frying in oil is an important cooking skill, and tortillas are an easy food for practicing. If you don’t feel like doing the extra work, make the Soft Tacos variation that follows or use store-bought crisp shells and skip to Step 3.

Holdie and me on TODAY a few weeks ago! Never a dull moment with the grandson, who was his usual sparkly self.

Banana Bread

Banana Bread has been one of my most popular recipes for I don’t know how long. I’ve been making this exact version since I first learned to cook, so of course it’s included in How to Cook Everything Kids, along with variations for pumpkin, applesauce, and sweet potato bread. Good luck not eating the entire loaf in one day.

Making your own corn bread for dinner (or snacks) is a simple recipe for learning to bake and a fun way to contribute to family meals.

Popcorn teaches you to cook with your nose and your ears. All the action happens in a covered pot, so you can’t even sneak a peek without getting popcorn everywhere.
