1. Made In Soup Bowls

Our favorite cookware brand just released soup bowls! I’ve wanted soup bowls for so long, and yet continue to use the silliest substitutes (I can’t even get into it). These are simple and elegant and have the exact heft you want for a soup bowl (also, the size is just right; they’re not too big or deep). I’m going to use them for everything (including soup, of course). – Kate

2. Spiceology Black Magic Cajun Blackening Seasoning

If you’re like me and have decision fatigue when it comes to cooking for yourself, this is the spice blend for you. There’s so much flavor packed in this jar—garlic, onion, paprika, and some heat from the cayenne. The mix is warm, a little smoky, and just spicy enough to give dishes a kick without being overwhelming.

This seasoning does what a blackening blend is supposed to do: blooms in fat, toasts, and forms that deeply seasoned, slightly crusty edge. I cooked some boneless, skinless chicken thighs in the air fryer (this one, which I continue to love; Kate got one, too!) with Black Magic sprinkled all over and it formed such a beautiful crust—it looked like crispy chicken skin (even though it was skinless). The mix would work excellently on any protein and it’s also great with roasted veggies. An instant flavor boost with minimal effort. To note: Black Magic includes salt, so you’ll want to be mindful of adding any additional salt or seasonings. The heat is nice, but if you like things a little hotter, consider adding some additional cayenne. – Holly

3. MoMA House Ceramic Tea Light Holder

Like seemingly everyone else in the universe, I went to MoMA yesterday. It’s our second week of spring break (!) and Holden likes to pay a visit to “Starry Night” every once in a while, so we hung at the museum for a bit and (of course) went to the store and I saw this tea light holder in person and it’s adorable. We also had a really nice lunch with our friend Rob at Jupiter—I recommend the Chicken Milanese and the 30 Rock Cake.

Anyway. I actually thought I’d get the tea light holder as a butter dish—we’re in the market—but it turns out there’s a butter dish, too (back in stock April 26). To note: the butter dish is huge, at least as far as butter dishes go. How much butter do you use?! The tea light holder would work for either, and it’s in stock. – Kate
