Jared Blumenfeld is a national climate leader with a track record of delivering results for frontline and underserved communities. He’s the former head of the California EPA and the inaugural and current President of Waverley Street Foundation, the new $3B climate philanthropy funded by Laurene Powell Jobs that’s working both domestically and globally on many critical environmental issues—like oil litigation, renewable energy, and regenerative ag and food systems.
Jared believes strongly that community-level, place-based change is paramount in addressing climate change, and as president of Waverley Street, he has tasked his team with building the capacity of groups working directly in the communities most impacted by climate change: communities of color, tribal communities, youth and economically distressed rural communities. Waverley Street also strategically advocates for supportive government policies that offer incentives and remove obstacles to accelerate change.
Jared has dedicated his entire career to championing and advocating for environmental sustainability, and I was glad to chat with him.
