On this week’s episode of Food with Mark Bittman, Kate and I talked with Jenique Jones, who’s the Executive Director of WhyHunger, a global nonprofit working to advance the human right to nutritious food.
Jones has a terrific story, and under her guidance, WhyHunger has continued to progress—from an emergency hunger organization to one that supports food sovereignty, food justice, and—as mentioned earlier—the universal right to good food. WhyHunger has connected more than 3.5 million people to nutritious, local food, and invested $6.8 million globally to support sustainable agriculture and effective hunger solutions. It also supports numerous smaller organizations carrying on food justice work.
This is a great conversation.
