Hey, Readers: THANK YOU!

Published December 28, 2018

This is the last newsletter of 2018 (cue the violin). We launched this thing not even three months ago, and I could not be more thrilled with the community of readers (all of you) that has developed in such a relatively short period of time. I wanted to start a newsletter to have a more immediate, personal, and fun way to connect with people, and because of you, that’s exactly what’s happened.

So, before the year is officially up, I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. Today, instead of mind-blowing insights or massive recipe rundowns (not like I ever really have either of those), I just have gratitude; for your willingness to read what I enjoy writing, for trying out new dishes, for sending questions, suggestions, stories and family recipes. Speaking of stories, in honor of all of you, I wanted to share one of my very favorite reader emails that I’ve received since launching the newsletter (don’t worry, I got permission). I don’t want to give too much away, but let’s just say that Dr. House has some fierce competition (see below).

Anyway, thank you, again, for making these last few months really enjoyable for me (and Daniel and Kate), have a fantastic end to 2018 and—see you in the new year.

— Mark

When it comes to things people have to say about my cookbooks (good, bad and ugly) I thought I’d heard it all. Turns out I was wrong. Thank you to the generous reader who shared this story, and finally revealed what my books are truly meant for.
