We love her!

I chose one of my favorite episodes from last year to rerun today, and I’m hoping that if you haven’t listened to this one yet, you will, and if you have listened – it’s worth tuning in again, as I did. Our interview is with Chef Toya Boudy, who, since she came on in February of 2023, to talk about her book, Cooking for the Culture, has become a friend of mine. She is an awesome human.
Toya’s first job was cooking at the corner store — and in New Orleans, where she was born and raised, the corner stores offer a huge variety of different foods. She was 15. That’s how she got her start cooking, and she hasn’t stopped, becoming a bonafide star along the way. She’s appeared on plenty of television: Guy’s Grocery Games, TLC, and Food Network. She was crowned Best Home Cook by Hallmark’s Home & Family Channel, and is an ambassador for the New Orleans Multicultural Tourism Network. She is tireless, and it shows. I can’t wait to see what she does next. If you don’t know Toya yet – and, if you do, really – you’re in for a treat.
