1. Riviera: Recipes from the Coast of France and Italy

Oh, friends, this book is so good. So pretty. So simple. You’re going to love it. Author Mélanie Masarin makes a point of letting us know that she is not a chef; she just loves to cook and feels inspired by the food she grew up with, notably when she was spending summers with her grandmother on the Riviera (lucky). The recipes are unfussy (most have 10 ingredients or less) and there are so many I’m excited about: 7-Day Cured Egg Yolks (they’re easy and I love Melanie’s idea of using them wherever you’d use Parmesan), Olive and Ham Savory “Cake,” Artichoke and Bean Salad (we have that recipe for you, here); plus staples like Socca.  – Kate

2. Ichendorf Glasses

I recommended some version of these glasses as a gift a few years ago and they were a hit; take a quick look and you’ll see why. I use mine (the rabbit) for martinis, because it makes me happy. I am extremely partial to the eggplant; it’s hilarious. The pink tulip is also very sweet. Try not to go down a rabbit (wink wink) hole; there are a lot of options. – Kate

3. Bittman’s Mother’s Day Box

Obviously we have to mention our fabulous Bittman’s Mother’s Day box. Four types of whole grain bread—some of the best you’ve ever had, a jar of Dandelion Chocolate’s Chocolate Hazelnut Spread (get a spoon), our own salted butter (from pasture-raised cows), and a Bittman’s tote bag that’s worthy of LL Bean. $110. Not bad, right? Get yours. I also want to mention that to celebrate our partnership with the wonderful Dandelion Chocolate, I chose a few of my favorites from their site—see those here. That passionfruit bar would be a great addition to any gift you’re giving anyone. – Mark

4. Rise & Root Farm Flowers and Plants

I love Rise & Root Farm and I love its founder, Karen Washington. They’re currently holding their spring plant sale—the deadline to order is tomorrow for pick up at Union Square Greenmarket, La Finca in the Bronx, on the farm in Chester, or at the Kingston Farmers Market. (Sorry, yes, this is New York pick up only, but if you’re in New York, may I suggest the purple basil, the cosmos, and/or the Aztec zinnias?) – Mark

5. Save $20 off your first three orders at Thrive Market

Thrive Market is a convenient way to stock up on all your staples. Kate loves it for coconut milk and coconut oil, sea salt, canned tomatoes, crackers, sponges, cleaning supplies—and coffee!
